Watch two parts of bouldering in Fontainebleau.

Fontainebleau is always a great travel desitnation. Whether you are a complete beginner or a full professional, there is something for everyone in this forest. Most of the boulders feature mostly slopers and hard mantles, but every style can be found here (highballs, dynos, etc.).

Unfortunately, you can’t travel to Fontainebleau at the moment due to Covid-19 restrictions. We hope that these two videos will give you some training inspiration for the times when it’s time to get going again!

Dyno compilation

We have put together some impressive dynos from the bouldering world.

A ‘dyno’ is defined as a dynamic movement that uses momentum to get to the next hold.

This compilation shows you a lot of different jumps, mainly from Fontainebleau, but also from Frankenjura, Magic Wood, Zillertal and even Morocco.
We hope you enjoy the video on YouTube:

One of the best jumps from this video was ‘Rainbow Rocket’. We have published more insights on this unique boulder here.

RAINBOW ROCKET 8A

A very impressive dyno in Fontainebleau

The hardest dyno I’ve ever done

It is now exactly 4 years ago that I flew up the dyno classic ‘Rainbow Rocket‘ graded 8A/V11.

In my opinion this block still offers one of the most impressive lines worldwide. I have always loved jumps and dynamic moves. Especially this boulder in Fontainebleau was a dream of mine. All in all it cost me about 220 attempts spread over 3 trips to conquer it. The hardest part was to train the complex movement of placing the foot at hand height during the movement to generate the necessary upward thrust.
In more detail you can watch our edited video of the process and instructions on Youtube:

While we have presented our best Instagram posts here, the YT video is by far our most popular with over 50000 clicks.

If jumping is not for you, have a look at the boulders in our other videos, e.g. some uncharted lines in Fontainebleau.

Fontainebleau is one of the most popular bouldering areas in the world. Even in the summer a lot of people come to touch some best-quality sandstone. When the classical sectors became to crowded, we decided to visit less known spots and searched for more uncharted lines.
